The City of Fort Lauderdale is performing scheduled fire hydrant maintenance in the Rio Vista Neighborhood beginning May 13 and continuing through August 3, 2019 in the following area:
Boundaries:
Northern: Sunrise Blvd
Southern: State Rd 84
Eastern: South Atlantic Blvd
Western: South Federal Hwy
Properties in the area may experience a temporary drop in water pressure during testing of the fire hydrants and the water may become slightly discolored. If you experience discolored water, you may wish to run water from one or more cold water faucets for a couple of minutes until the water is clear again and you may wish to do so prior to cooking, bathing or washing laundry. The discolored water is nonhazardous but can stain clothing. If your water does not clear within 24 hours, please contact City’s 24-Hour Neighbor Call Center at 954-828-8000.
Residents will have full access to their properties, while we perform this very important work.
Please sign-up for Code Red online at www.fortlauderdale.gov or contact the 24-Hour Neighbor Call Center at 954-828-8000.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue has visited several potential sites for an additional station in the downtown area. The focus of the search has been the Federal Highway corridor east of the railroad tracks between Davie Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard. A station requires approximately 16,000 square feet of property, inclusive of two Bays, 7 Bunks, and associated living/working space. Better accessibility to areas both North and South of the tunnel are the goal in improving response times in the area. Read the full report here:
