Good afternoon everyone,
The purpose of this e-mail is to inform everyone that the contractor for the referenced project will commence sheet pile installation next Monday (12/9) starting at SE 11 Ct working northbound to SE 7 St for a total of 2200 linear feet. The sheet pile driving will occur for the next 6 to 8 months, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. In preparation for the sheet pile installation, a vibration monitoring company (Geosonics) has been retained to conduct pre-sheet pile installation residence inspections and installation of vibration monitoring equipment along the Cordova Rd corridor. Also, City Staff has been informing the Rio Vista Civic Association and Cordova Rd property owners via the City’s website, e-mail and construction flyers of the pending sheet-pile installation.
Please be advised that the equipment used to install the sheet piles will generate a moderate level of noise and vibration that the adjacent property owners will experience until the installation has been completed. The vibration and noise levels will be monitored in real-time with various detection devices, and if the vibration and/or noise exceeds pre-determined tolerances, the construction team (City, Design Consultant and Geosonics) will inform the contractor to stop all work until the issue that caused the exceedance has been rectified.
Thank you and let me know if you have any questions,
Juan Carlos Samuel, E.I., ENV SP
