little free library rack

At the end of February 2018, RVCA Acting President Christina Currie installed a replacement to book lending library in Virginia Young Park.  We hope that this updated version fares better than the original wooden library. It is at the western end of the park, near 9th Avenue and the billboard.  We'd like to share some guidelines to ensure the long-term success of our library.

Who Does the Library Belong to? All of us, so please take care of it. The library was funded using RVCA membership dues and it was filled by residents who want to share their love a good book. If you ever notice the library door left open please close it to keep the books dry. If you ever see a book on the ground please brush it off and put it in the library. If you ever see any damage to the library please email a board member.

How Does It Work? Find a book you would like to read and then go ahead and BORROW it. When you are finished with the book, return it in the condition you received it or pass it on to a friend.

Who Keeps the Library Full of Books? We all do! If you have a book that you would like to share donate it to our little library for someone else to enjoy. If the library is full when you want to make a donation please come back another time and try again, don’t leave your donation outside of the library. Space is limited so please give children’s books the priority over adult books.

Who Can I Ask More Questions? If you ever have a comment or concern about the library you can email any board member. If you have a question about the process of getting this set up and installed you can contact me, Christina Currie This email address is being protected from spambots.
