0945 Began and completed out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
1150 Patrolled mainland and parks, heavy rain to begin.
1220 Patrolled cemetery isle and business along Federal.
1250 Contact was made with suspicious W/M walking east bound in the 1600 block 9 St. It was later determined he was lost and looking for Federal.
1315 Final patrols all areas.
2045 Flagged down by resident at 811 SE 9 St. Advised she heard her car alarm go off at approximately 2:20 am. Nothing was seen. FYI
2100 Began unmarked patrols
2130 Responded in reference to a burglary of a construction site in progress. Neighbor heard activity in the fenced off construction lot. Perimeter established and K-9 responded. It turned out that it was the general contractor checking on the site. All was OK.
2245 Responded to burglary in progress at a residence. Resident saw lights on downstairs when he had previously turned them off. Perimeter established and K-9 responded. Verified through home automation system that all was ok. No burglary attempt.
2340 Observed suspicious vehicle parked in front of vacant house on SE 5 Ct. Vehicle then pulled away upon seeing me. I conducted a traffic stop. It was a local resident who was talking with a friend in the vehicle. All was OK.

1000 – 10 8, called in. One voice message was in reference to a parking complaint at 1306 hours on 7-21-13.
1005 – HOA vehicle is making a really bad sound, took to the garage and checked out the loaner. Please make sure to return the key to FLEET not the key fob machine thingy. No computer either.
1130- Got the loaner and will begin house checks. I will write down the houses that need to be checked. Hopefully the car will be ready later. All homes on the mainland were found secure. Detective Hancock will check the homes on the isles this afternoon.
1545 Began patrols and completion of remaining vacation checks
1700 All vacation checks on the isles checked secure.
1805 Patrolled the parks, isles and Yacht Club.
1845 Responded to a complaint in reference to the homeowner leaving trash cans at curbside for excessive periods of time. Upon speaking to the homeowner I was advised he is a new resident and the property came with 8 trash containers when he took possession. The homeowner stated he did not need nearly that many cans so the City advised him to leave what he didn’t need by the street and they would recover them. The unwanted cans were removed earlier today creating a happy ending to this otherwise tragic series of events.
1930 Checked tented property on SE 11 Street.
2045 Continued high visibility patrols near neighborhood entrances
2130 Responded to a residential alarm. Upon arrival all was found secure. A callout arrived and the property was checked inside and also found to be secure. It was cleared as an apparent malfunction.

1230 I conducted 20 minutes of traffic enforcement SE 9 Ave/SE 11 Ct.
1250 Patrolled businesses along Federal Hwy.
1310 Provided directions to lost motorist.
1330- Final patrols all areas.
1800 Patrols of area. I observed lots of kids enjoying the new mulch at Virginia Young Park.

1730 Received call from resident regarding an aggressive solicitor refusing to leave. I contacted the solicitor who was across the street in her car. It turned out to be a Census worker conducting a survey. I advised the homeowner and then advised the Census worker that the homeowner did not want to participate.
1900 Checked Yacht club parking areas.
2015 Removed fishermen on SE 7 St for illegal parking

1020 Traffic enforcement 9ave/11ct. 4 citations written ranging from one way to seat belt violations.
1120 Began and completed out of town checks. All appear to be secure. Appears we are out of Rio cards so I used case card for residences.
1235 Patrolled Rio Vista isles and LYC.
1325- Dispatched to alarm. 10-8 accidental by cleaning lady.
1340- Final patrol all areas.
1645 message regarding fishermen who had set up table and umbrella on the sidewalk. I responded out and found the same and had them remove items from the sidewalk and checked for fishing license
1720 Delivered sign to new member
1900 Checked Yacht club, all quiet
2115 Received call of 2 youths pulling apart fence for vacant lot on 1200 blk. North Rio. I contacted subject and his friend. He is friends with the owners but did not have a key to the fence. Advised to return once he had the key. I left without incident and called back reporter and advised.
2230 Removed fisherman from private vacant lot at end of SE 7 St. He left without incident.
2240 Received call of youths being loud in Virginia Young Park. Had them leave without incident.

1800 - Called in reference to a neighbor dispute. Advice was given and nothing else needed at this time.
1815 – Return to above, subject returned. Subject was served, children removed, and report handled by patrol.
1900 – Drive by checks of vacation homes due to heavy rain.

1900 Received call from resident about man driving slowly looking at kids playing basketball. It was elderly male who drives silver Cadillac. I stopped him for coming to a complete stop in the intersection. He advised that he was just looking at roof tiles since he is putting a new roof on. He is probably approaching the end of the driving stage. I advised the caller.
2030 Checked Yacht club parking areas. Not much activity.
2100 Made addition to out of town log
2200 Continued patrols of area. It was a quiet night.
0015 Observed suspicious vehicle pull up to bike at post at 700 block of Ponce. 3 subjects began to load up bike into car. I stopped the subjects who stated that the bike tire went flat when they went to Denny’s last night, so they left it here. All had prior histories, but no warrants. I verified the bike ownership and sent them from the area.

0510- Reviewed activity log.
0515- Patrolled businesses along Federal Hwy. Removed S-86 type w/m from bench 7St. and Federal. Also observed and made contact with a B/M sitting in a car at 614 south Federal. He was waiting for a Rio Vista client and had arrived in the area early, all 10-4.
0540- Phone now has life, no new messages.
0610- Began and completed out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
0650- Patrolled school bus stops.
0715- Patrolled alley way along side of cemetery. No unusual activity to report.
0730- Traffic enforcement 9 Ave/11 Ct. 1 verbal provided to worker.
0745- Final patrols all areas.
1501 Dispatched in reference to a suspicious vehicle that had been in the area nearly two hours prior (call had been holding in dispatch) The vehicle was described as a old beat up white van bearing Florida plate occupied by a B/M 5’06 130 pounds.
It appeared to the caller the subject was possibly casing out the new construction site and was paying special attention to the building materials in front of the site. I did check the area despite the long delay in dispatching, nothing was located. MI Card #13-048661
Should any further suspicious activity or persons be found at this location the builder can be contacted
1530 Resumed patrols and checks of vacation homes.
1600 I overheard an audible residential alarm. Upon arrival I was unable to locate it and no dispatches were made to this area.
1615 All vacation homes checked secure on re-check.
1630 Dispatched to a residential alarm. Upon arrival I was met at the front door with two juvenile residents who advised they had failed to shut off the alarm in time to prevent activation. All was secure.
1745 Checked a B/M fisherman at the end of SE 10 Street, all was secure.
1830 Checked all parks
2000 Foot patrols in the area of the businesses along Federal Hwy.
