1020 – I responded to a code 3 94 for a PSA. It was turned over to patrol a while later. Still raining!
1130 – Met with homeowner. They’re home a few days early.
2100- in service. There are no new voicemails, texts, or emails. I reviewed the activity log.
2200 Patrolled Rio vista corridors. All business as usual.
2309 Received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle following him. He recognized a dark color sedan followed him from Cordova/SE 1 St. The susp. Vehicle made a u-turn, followed every traffic maneuver for several blocks and into LYC. I circulated the area for suspect vehicle but could not locate. Susp vehicle described a small sports car.

1115 Started vacation checks.
1315 S12 put out over radio for a Silver Nissan weaving in and out of traffic last seen on Fed and SE 9th Ave turning into Rio Vista. Checked the area for that vehicle while finishing vacation checks but did not locate.
1325 Made contact with a B/M, fishing in front of SE 10th Street. provided me a current fishing license, which expires 10/17. All 10-4.
1340 Completed vacation checks. Everything 10-4.
1400 Continued roving patrol with cruise lights activated.
1410 10-50 on FL Black Lexus for running stop sign at SE 9 Ave/SE 9 Street. Driver Verbal warning issued.
1830 Drove Yacht Club parking areas
2010 Call from resident concerning fproperty across the street. A neighbor was checking on it and found bathroom light on. I walked the property and all was 10-4. It may have been the cleaning lady earlier. He left a message for the homeowner.
2030 Call from resident about suspicious black male who knocked on door and then sat on sidewalk. Contacted the male in 90 seconds. He believed people were chasing him and trying to kill him. He started acting out, but he was handcuffed and then turned over to patrol for Baker Act.

0750 – 10-8, I called in the detail and left a message with my hours. It was raining, so I monitored the isles and 9 Ave while reviewing the logs and checking for messages/emails.
0830 – I checked Virginia Young Park, there were no beer cans littered anywhere today. I began vacation checks.
0900 - I checked on after being tented for termites. All appears 10-4.

I noticed a vehicle door left open,. Met with owner, all 10-4.
1145 - Still checking the many houses on the list.
1150 – 10-7
2200 10-8, I left a message with Hudson. Log reviewed. Text message regarding filing a Disturbance police report. Texted at the start of the detail. He indicated he would reach out in the am to file the police.
2220 Patrolled the corridors. All appeared to be secured.
2300 Continued high visibility patrols along the main corridors.
2345 Continued patrolling the neighborhood with overhead lights on.
0000 Patrolled of Rio mainland, parks, and business district. All quiet
0030 maintained high visibility along Fed highway. All quiet.
0100 Drove around Rio Vista with overhead police lights for high visibility.
0130 patrolled LYC and all appeared secured
0200 continued high visibility patrol along the main arteries.

0815 – 10-8, I left a message with my hours. I review the log, messages, emails, and texts.
0900 - I contacted resident in reference to a disturbance report form last night. See the email he sent for further. BOLO white Dodge Ram 2500 w/ large rearview mirrors, white male driver, yelling out slurs (unprovoked). Verbal dispute only. 34-1707-104736
0920 – Vacation checks, starting with Ponce and the isles.
0940 – Stopped out with two unlicensed fishermen at the 7 Street Bridge. I advised how they can get fishing licenses. They cleaned up and left.
1130 – All vacation checks appear secure. Checking the parks and patrolling until the end. All secure.

0520- Patrol of business district along S. Fed. No unusual activity to report.
0540- Patrol of Rio mainland, parks, and 11ct Alley.
0615- Began and completed the out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
0745- Finally done with checks, quick final rounds of Isles, bridges, and LYC.
0800- 10-7, heading in for shift. Happy 4Th.
1700 – 10-8, There are no new voicemails, texts, or emails. I reviewed the activity log.
1730 – Completed two remaining prop. Checks
1800 - Patrolled the corridors. All appeared to be secured.
1900 - Continued high visibility patrols along the main corridors and Federal Hwy..

2200 – 10-8, Called in detail. Surprise, it is heavily raining. I began high visibility patrols of the neighborhood. There were two voicemails..
2300 – Roving patrols. I stopped with two young adult males who were trying to get the attention of a vehicle driving away from them in the 1100 block of N Rio. It was their Uber driving away from them, all 10-4.
2330 – Still light rain. Drive by vacation checks.
0030 – Stopped out with S13 Hyundai Elantra pulled off the side of N Rio and 11 Ave. It was a young couple having a conversation. They moved along, all was 10-4.
The rain finally let up.
0045 – Patrol business district and parks. All quiet.
0130 – Patrol the isles, Hemingway, LYC. Final rounds.

0600- 10-8, I left a message with Carol. There are no NEW voicemails, texts, or Emails.
I conducted a quick early morning check of the business district along S. Federal Hwy.
There is no unusual activity to report. I reviewed the activity log.
0645- Began and completed the out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
0900-Responded to accident 9Ave/Ponce. PSA Gunther arrived and took report. I assisted with traffic until Westway arrived and towed both vehicles.
0945- Done with S4. Final rounds.
1630 Picked up radar to run do to complaints of accident at Ponce/ 9ave
1700-1940 Ran radar, 5 stops (32/25) warnings given. 3 of 5 were rio residents. None more than 7 mph over

2025 Call from resident for vacation check added to log. Also saw that I missed a text about kids on bikes on federal highway. Several bolos had gone out regarding the same.

1030 – 10-8, I left a message for Carol with my hours. We received a missed call from a resident who was concerned about the delayed red light at Davie Boulevard and S Fed. I checked the area and the lights are cycling normally. I continued with patrolling the neighborhood.
1100 – Began vacation checks.
1200 – Responded to an alarm. Everything was secure. I made landline with the owner who stated his sister accidentally set off the alarm.
1300 – Officially ran out of cards, I notified Capt Scelfo. Rain has stopped so I was able to check the rear of the vacation checks. All appear secure
1330 – Checked LYC, Hemingway, and the parks. Roving patrol of the neighborhood.
1400 – Foot patrol and moved the Rio car.

1030 Continued roving patrol with cruise lights on for visibility.
1115 Received a call who advised that the infamous motorcyclist was out and about on N Rio. I made contact with the motorcyclist on 9 Ave and N Rio. I did not observe him speeding or ignoring stop signs however I had a chat with him. I told him about the multiple calls we have been receiving and just advised him to keep his speed down and watch for kids. He was very respectful and stated that he would comply.

1705 Contacted crew at construction site at SE 9 Ave who had a lane blocked with no flagman interfering with traffic. Situation was resolved.
1740 While conducting vacation checks, unsecured door. Called emergency contact who advised she would come and secure door.
1830 Flagged down by resident who wanted me to pass a message of thanks to Detective Mike who helped him when he fell off the bike. I advised I would pass the message.

0805 – 10-8, Called in detail and checked the Rio phone. A text from Captain Scelfo stated there was a suspicious silver SUV loitering near 600 SE 7th Street. I parked there while I reviewed the log. There were also four missed calls from yesterday (two from the, but no voicemails.
0830 - I was dispatched to the area of SE 7th Street in reference to a construction noise complaint. The noise was minor and it is allowed after 8:00 AM (currently 8:36 AM). The reportee is anonymous and did not leave contact information. 17-072464 10-98-B.
0900 - Returned the missed calls from yesterday.
- called at 9:00 AM yesterday about a fire extinguisher being tampered with/moved in the tunnel. He also notified District 3 via the non-emergency tunnel.
0915 – Roving patrol and then one way traffic enforcement at SE 11th Court and SE 9th Avenue. No violators in 45 Mins.
1000 – LYC Property check.
1015 - Vacation checks. All appear secure.
1100 – I was dispatched to SE 7th Street and S Federal reference traffic lights flashing yellow/red. I notified Traffic Engineering but the intersection can be treated as a 4 way stop sign until it is fixed.

0800 – 10-8, Called in detail. I called back 2 missed calls and left messages for them. There were no voicemails or texts. I began patrolling the isles and checking for construction parking issues. I also dealt with the light on SE 7th Street and Fed again.
0900 – Began vacation checks. I moved two packages to the rear.
0915 – Audible alarm. The homeowner had just gone out on a walk and left her interior garage door left slightly open and that accidentally set it off. 10-98-3.
0920 – One way traffic enforcement on SE 11th Ct and 9 Ave.
1030 – Vacation checks appear 10-4. Some residents had gotten home already this morning.
1045 – Home is doing some construction today. I met with the contractor after a few people had issues getting to appointments. I explained how they need to park and to avoid completely blocking driveways or the roadway.
1110 - One way traffic enforcement on SE 11th Ct and 9 Ave.
1605 Monitoring one way. 1 citation issued
1755 Saw the infamous rio vista motorcyclist. As I drove up behind him, no less than 3 neighbors frantically pointed at him. As I did not observe any traffic violations, I decided to have a friendly chat with him. He claimed he was unaware that he was more infamous that the infamous el guapo, I suggested maybe he take his rides along the beach as to not aggravate his neighbors.
1850 Flagged down by resident on SE 11 Isle who wanted to complain about….you guessed it… Apparently he was tearing down their street yesterday and then his neighbor found tire tracks in his yard, although no one witnessed the yard damage. I explained that I spoke with him only an hour earlier.
1935 Traffic stop for one way. Subject looking for Tom Jenkins with suspended DL. Citations issued.
2000 Flagged down by resident. Elderly resident claimed her wall lights were vandalized several months ago. She also felt her pool pump was vandalized, but that just looked old and rusted. Report taken.

0745 – 10-8, Called in detail after charging up Rio phone battery. While conducting a property check a Hemingway I plugged in the laptop and reviewed the logs. There were no new voicemails or texts.
0830 – Heavy rain all morning. Roving patrol.
1030 – Still lots of rain. I did drive by checks. I was able to get out in between the heavy downpour for the remaining homes
Continued patrolling and remaining visible.
1310 Call from resident advising that her alarm was going off. Call also received dispatch. Alarm coded as accidental. Lots of rain currently
Continued periodic patrols as there was lots and lots of rain.

0745 – 10-8,. There was a new text message for an out of town check and I added it to the log. I also moved several past checks away from the current checks log. After reviewing the activity log I noticed that the motorcyclist is still speeding at night. I will spend time in that area today, but the best chance to catch him is at night.
0800 – Roving patrols.
1000 – Vacation checks are completed, everything appears to be secure. I placed a few flyers in mail boxes and news papers in back yards to keep the appearance that the home was not vacant.
1030 – Continued presence in the 700 block/N Rio Vista area.
1100 – Business and park checks. Final rounds.
1120 – I received phone call about the speeder/motorcyclist. I was already in the area and observed him riding his motorcycle at the proper speed. He followed all the laws and did not run the stop sign.

0745 – 10-8, No new voicemails. There was one new text for an added vacation check. Early morning patrol for construction noise, parking violations, and fishermen on the isles. All was quiet.
0830 – Roving patrols in the rain. After the skies cleared up, vacation checks were completed.
1615 10-8, no messages
1620 Resoponded to alarm at 1215 SE 6 St. All secure.
1710 Call of vagrant walking in road with cart near 11th/cordova. Contacted the individual who was looking for the beach. Proper directions given.
1740 Car check engine light came on and engine sputtering. Took vehicle to garage (also to have Krystle’s dent fixed).
