0600- Patrol of the business district along South Federal Highway, no unusual activity to report.
0630- Patrol of the 11Ct alley.
0700- Began and completed the out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
Spoke to a 12ct resident (just south of Rio) in reference to his Infinity being stolen from driveway a few days ago. Victim stated footage shows suspect possibly using a device similar to a slim jim to enter vehicles driver door, once inside it took the suspect approximately 5 minutes to get car started and left.

1845: Flagged down by bicyclist asking for Rio car to be parked on SE 9th Ave between NRV and SE 7th ST due to speeding motorists; will try to coordinate with patrol officer to get ride back. Continued roving patrol of aisles, LYC, mainland, and parks.

2015: Phone call from resident about a speeding mercedes convertible in 1100 blk of SE 8th ST. Responded to the area to monitor / deter another incident.

0904- Red Toyota Corolla- parked in front of a fire hydrant at SE 9th st. I located the owner asked her to reposition her vehicle so that she was not blocking the hydrant

1059- Made contact with the General Contractor regarding a pile of lawn trash that was left in front. He stated that he would contact the homeowner and have them contact the lawn company to move the debris. Will leave a message for the Tuesday morning officer.

A portion of Rio is out of power and there are quite a few downed branches / debris in the roadway because of the heavy storms that passed through earlier. Numerous FPL trucks throughout conducting repairs.
1845: Reunited loose dog, “Penny”, owner appreciative. Completed one out of town check. Roving patrol.

While checking vacation home, I observed a hairline crack about 2 ft long on the rear sliding glass door. I checked all doors and could see inside that there was no entry made.
I phoned the resident and he advised he was able of the crack.
All remaining house checks completed.

1645 Delivered signs to 2 new members.
1915 Backed up patrol unit at 12/Miami out with suspicious male. All ok.
1930 Flagged down by resident who stated another tenant may be up to suspicious activity. Leaves for short periods all night in Silver older model dodge pickup. Advised we would keep a look out.
1940 Call of suspicious black male in the area of SE 8 St/9 Ave. Observed subject walking down sidewalk. No criminal activity observed. Advised reportee of same.

1734: Dispatched to Info call about possible package theft. After extensive investigation, it was learned the package was indeed stolen from a different. Report taken, 18-031781.
1830: Roving patrol w/ cruise & alley lights. LYC, isles, mainland, all clear.
1930: Continued patrol, heavy rain. Quiet.

1800: Sgt. Dietrich flagged me down in reference to a elderly S/8 who has dementia and is walking a boston terrier; will keep an eye out.
1934: Alarm. Homeowners daughter accidentally set off alarm letting out dogs. 98-3, Case # 18-023681.

0700 - Rio car still down- picked up loaner key from station. I could not get the internet to work on loaner car laptop. No new messages today.
0730 - Vacation checks and stickers.
I finished 6st and 6ct. Some houses did not have signs at all but the loaner car doesn't have signs.
1030 – call from resident- she requests more patrol especially at night and on the weekends. She is referencing the fishermen that park blocking the road or leave messes. Juveniles also loiter and cause disturbances in the area, especially on school breaks and the weekends. I advised her we would patrol more down there, and to call the Rio phone or FLPD when it happens again.

0811 Returned to Rio; and received a call from residence- vehicle was stolen last night, and wanted patrol car in front of residence until locks were changed later in the day.
0845 Received a call from resident; victim of burglary auto (possibly related to signal 10 from night before.
0945 Several neighbors had video footage of possible suspect vehicle; all info sent over to Det Muvdi, and blue forms filled out for Tech Services.
1115 Another burglary Auto at 909 Cordova road.

1600 10-8, message from resident. Called her back and she advised that a white mercedes tag 866MBN was driving recklessly on SE 9 St and gave her the bird. Car not registered in the area. Advised we would be on the lookout for the driver
1620 Flagged down reference purse found as a result of last night’s burglary.
Green small purse with eyeglasses and makeup. No ID. I placed the purse into evidence and completed a supplement report.

2130- called in. Checked text, VM and email. There was a VM complaining of drag racing and suspect damaging his sod. I called back at Approx 2200 hours and left a VM advising him to call non emergency number and report the matter or perhaps call the Rio detail officer to file in the am.
2200- Continued proactive and high visibility patrol in and around the Rio Vista corridors. Cold and quiet.
2300- Continued high visibility patrol. Followed a subject on a bicycle. Contacted him and he indicated he was cutting through the neighborhood. Seemed legit as he was loaded with fishing gear.

1700 in service, called in added 1 check and had a call ref. homeless male soliciting the area for home protection. I spoke with this male who actually washes cars in the HOA. Advised to be careful whom he solicits. 10-8
2035 Called in ref. to a B/F soliciting on 6 ct. nothing found
2100 10-7 NOTE: there is an email ref. a male swimming in the intercoastal and trespassing on their property. Could a dayshift officer check on this incident Thanks I will see what I can find tonight at work.

0800- Stopped by to address the complaint regarding response times from a 911 call.

I checked in with neighbor above to see if he had any additional concerns in reference to his lawn. He wanted to know if we are having a problem with lawns being torn up. I advised him that there is no trend going on and that it is most likely careless drivers.
