The Protect Rio Vista program utilizes your subscription funds to hire off-duty Fort Lauderdale police officers to patrol in the neighborhood.  The officers are in uniform when on duty and have full authority to take official action action should a crime take place while on patrol.  The officers patrol in a marked car leased by the civic association and will be dispatched by FLPD for any 911 call recieved from the neighborhood.  Members also recieve a cell phone number by which they may contact the patrol officers directly while they are on duty.  Members also recieve the opportunity to request a vacation check of their home when they are out of town.

Tuesday Jan 11 2022 

0600 10-8 called in detail. No new messages checked emails residents returned and added some signs to lists for delivery . I Started patrolling the area. 

0615- I checked by Hemingway and LYC and started adding 2022 stickers to 12 street I then checked away home on isles and added all 2022 stickers to 7th street isle and 8th street isle 

0730  checked  mainland streets and a

I also checked all the parks. I checked away from home and added stickers too . 

0800 10-7 

Sticker delivery

1400: In service, detail phoned into Hudson line. There are no new emails, missed calls, or text 

messages. Reviewed activity log and began membership sticker delivery between rain showers.

1450-1515: Stoodby at BCS during dismissal. 

1515: Heavy rain moving in - roving patrol. 

1540: Followed up in regards to golf cart incident who provided following:

  • Incident occurred on Sun 1/9 around 1615-1630 hours on NRV between 7th and 8th ST
  • 4-seater golf cart (with rear facing seats) that was been driven by a W/F 12-13 y/o

Had 1 W/F front pass., 2 W/M rear passengers, all 12-13 y/o

  • Golf cart was weaving all over the road, driving toward oncoming traffic - had to swerve to avoid a head on collision; ended up in grass at SE 7th ST / NRV where the reporter confronted subjects. 
  • Provided tag does not come back to anything

1600: Still raining - roving patrol. 

1630: POURING rain again.

1730: Still raining / roving.

1800: Out of service. 

Wednesday, Jan 12, 2022   

0545-   10-8 called in detail. 1 call reference S-13 Male calling around property  starting  my patrol of the area. 

0730-  I checked by Hemingway, LYC and Isles

0900-   I checked  mainland streets and vacation checks. 

0945-   I  drove along Fed and continued patrols no calls, 10-7

0500-   10-8 called in detail, no messages or texts, starting my patrol of the area. 

0700-  I checked by Hemingway, LYC and Isles

0800-   I checked  mainland streets and vacation checks. 

0900-   I  drove along Fed and continued patrols no calls, 10-7



0930: In service. Detail phoned into Hudson line. There are no new emails, missed calls, or text 

messages. Reviewed activity log and began sticker delivery. 

1045: Completed all of 9th ST aisle sticker delivery. Begin roving patrol.

1130: Out of service. 

Friday, Jan 14, 2022 

0915-   In service, detail called in on the Rio phone, 1 photo sent to the phone???, and 1 ring video sent by (not HOA member) of a B/M who rang his ring doorbell then walked away from the property. Resident called and stated the B/M allegedly walked around the property and then returned to damage his ring doorbell. He was advised to call the Non-emergency number to make a report. He was also asked to send us the video. It is on the phone. He stated it happened at 1215 am.. nothing further. 

No other messages or texts. Have to get gas and a new battery

1031-   added new out of town message

1115-   completed checks on the Isles.

1230-   completed checks on the mainland

1345-   continued patrolling and delivered numerous 2022 HOA stickers.

1400-   out of service

1400-  In service, I called the detail into the Hudson line.  No new messages left on the phone.  I reviewed the activity log. 

1410- Delivered numerous 2022 HOA stickers on N. Rio Vista Blvd..

1510- Patrolled the isles and yacht club.

1530- Checked businesses along S. Federal Hwy

1600- Patrolled the mainland and parks. 

1630- Final patrol of isles and mainland.

1700- Out of service.

Saturday, Jan 15, 2022 

0615-   In service, called into the Rio line, 1 new message ref. unknown kids allegedly setting a tree on fire, returned call - no answer

0815-   completed a patrol and vacation checks of the isles

1015-   completed a patrol and checks of the mainland

1030-   out of service

Sunday, Jan 16, 2022 

0730-   In service, called into the Rio line, 1 new message ref. unknown kids allegedly driving a go kart in the park, returned call - left message

0845-   completed a patrol and vacation checks of the isles

1115-   completed a patrol and checks of the mainland

Monday Jan 17  2022   

Happy MLK Day 

0500 10-8 called in detail. No new messages or emails . I Started patrolling the area. 

0615- I checked by Hemingway and LYC and started adding 2022 stickers to 11 street Amd 10th then added all 2022 stickers

0730  checked  mainland streets and a

I also checked all the parks. I checked away homes and added stickers to 6CT and  finished 7th and 8th too . 

0900 10-7 

Tuesday Jan 18   2022   

0500 10-8 called in detail. No new messages or emails/ a skipped message regarding a noise on 

11CT around 945pm called him back no answer checked area when I got in no noise heard  . I Started patrolling the area. 

0615- I checked by Hemingway and LYC and started adding 2022 stickers to 11 street, 11 Ct

1406: Sliced pinky finger adjusting a residents sign - done with stickers for the day!

1430-1515: Stoodby at BCS during dismissal.

1552: Email about not having a sign sticker; yard had two signs, one of which was 

missing a sticker; delivered sticker and replied to email advising of such. 

1645: Out of service.

Wednesday, Jan 19, 2022 

0545-   In service, called into the Rio line, no messages

0745-   completed checks on the isles

0930-   completed checks on the mainland

1000-   out of service

Thursday, Jan 20, 2022 

0530-   In service, called into the Rio line, no messages, no text

0730-   completed home checks and a patrol of the isles

0930-   I completed all checks on the mainland

1000-   out of service

1215: In service, detail phoned into Hudson line. No new messages, missed calls, or text 

messages. Reviewed activity log and began sticker delivery.

1315: Still delivering stickers.

1430-1515: Stoodby at BCS during dismissal. Begin roving patrol.

1600: Rain moving in, non-stop roving of aisles, mainland, parks, LYC, and BCS.

1700: Out of service. 


Friday, Jan 21, 2022 

0600-   10-8 called in detail, no messages or texts, starting my patrol of the area. 

0800-  I checked by Hemingway, LYC and Isles

1000-   I checked  mainland streets and vacation checks. 

1015-   I  drove along Fed and continued patrols no calls, 10-7

1600-  In service, I called the detail into the Hudson line.  I reviewed the activity log.  One new email on the phone.  Deliver sign.

1630- Delivered sign to new resident. 

1700- Patrolled the isles and yacht club.

1730- Checked mainland and parks.

1755- Received a call on the Rio phone.  She is requesting the Rio car be moved to SE  9 St & SE 11 CT because of all the activity at that location.  I advised I will move it there after my shift 

1830- Final patrol of isles and mainland.

1840- Flagged down about a homeless man walking in the 1600 block of SE 9 Street.  I located the subject.  He wasn't doing anything illegal.  I watched him until he left the area.

1900-  Moved Rio car to SE 9 St & 11 Ave.  Out of service.

Saturday, Jan 22, 2022 

1000-   10-8 called in detail, no messages or texts, a “Thank You” note was left on the Rio car - AWESOME, starting my patrol of the area. 

1200-  I checked by Hemingway, LYC and Isles, very busy today

1300-   I checked  mainland streets and vacation checks. 

1400-   I  drove along Fed and continued patrols no calls, 10-7


1600    10-8; returned 1 missed call; resident saw her neighbors window open and found it odd

            contact made with neighbor who advised they left window open intentionally

            Began delivering signs to houses that needed whole Rio Vista signs

            monitored Starbucks parking lot for traffic backup
