The Protect Rio Vista program utilizes your subscription funds to hire off-duty Fort Lauderdale police officers to patrol in the neighborhood.  The officers are in uniform when on duty and have full authority to take official action action should a crime take place while on patrol.  The officers patrol in a marked car leased by the civic association and will be dispatched by FLPD for any 911 call recieved from the neighborhood.  Members also recieve a cell phone number by which they may contact the patrol officers directly while they are on duty.  Members also recieve the opportunity to request a vacation check of their home when they are out of town.

1815: Non-stop roving patrol of aisles, mainland, parks, LYC, Smoker Park, BCS, Fed Hwy. 

Lots of joggers / walkers / bicyclists out and about. 

1915: Still roving, no issues.

2115: Out of service.

1210-   responded with patrol ref. stolen car, sounded like a (follow) behind theft, looks like suspect followed the victim until the opportunity was available, suspect W/M 6’ with a yellow striped shirt took the vehicle with keys left inside parked in roadway, patrol took report

1300-   out of service

1800: Arrived at station to get Rio phone only to find JSW wanted to keep it close to his heart; 

retrieved later in Rio and called detail into hudson line. No new texts, or missed calls but, one new out of town check via email; added to log. Reviewed activity log and began roving patrol in the heavy drizzle rain. 

1900: Patrol units handled missing child Case # 20-102874

2000: Completed remaining out of town checks, continued roving patrol.

2100: Roving patrol of aisles, mainland, parks, LYC, Fed Hwy, BCS, and Smoker Park.

2200: Out of service

0930-   in service, detail called in, no new messages, starting patrol,

1000-   1 messages reference code complaint, attempted call back with no answer, also spoke to a resident who asked to please keep an eye open for illegal parking at the end of 10 st isles

1150-   completed checks of the isles,

1310-   completed checks on the mainland,

1330-   out of service

1600-  In service,  I called the detail into the Hudson line.  I reviewed the activity log.  No new messages left on the phone.

1630-  Patrolled the businesses along S. Federal Hwy.  

1700-  Patrolled the isles, bridges and yacht club.  I checked the end of SE 10th Street for illegal parking/fishing.  It was all clear.

1730-  Checked the mainland.

1830- Final patrol of isles and mainland.

1900-  Out of service.

2030-   In service, checks of mainland and isles all clear

2200-   Continuous checks of HOA, little to no vehicles or pedestrians and surprisingly no fireworks in the HOA.

2300-   Contact made with fishermen at SE 10th St, properly licensed and they were reminded about proper parking.

0100-   LYC all clear.  Met with security, who advised the same

0200-   Out of service due to call out.

1915: Three licensed fishermen on 10th St aisle. Continue roving.

2015: Was flagged down about a suspicious white Tesla that had followed the reportee to the 

aisles yesterday; no tag or other info.

2115: Roving patrol of aisles, mainland, parks, LYC, BCS, Smoker Park, Fed Hwy, all clear. 

2215: Out of service.
