0805 – 10-8, Called in detail and checked the Rio phone. A text from Captain Scelfo stated there was a suspicious silver SUV loitering near 600 SE 7th Street. I parked there while I reviewed the log. There were also four missed calls from yesterday (two from the, but no voicemails.
0830 - I was dispatched to the area of SE 7th Street in reference to a construction noise complaint. The noise was minor and it is allowed after 8:00 AM (currently 8:36 AM). The reportee is anonymous and did not leave contact information. 17-072464 10-98-B.
0900 - Returned the missed calls from yesterday.
- called at 9:00 AM yesterday about a fire extinguisher being tampered with/moved in the tunnel. He also notified District 3 via the non-emergency tunnel.
0915 – Roving patrol and then one way traffic enforcement at SE 11th Court and SE 9th Avenue. No violators in 45 Mins.
1000 – LYC Property check.
1015 - Vacation checks. All appear secure.
1100 – I was dispatched to SE 7th Street and S Federal reference traffic lights flashing yellow/red. I notified Traffic Engineering but the intersection can be treated as a 4 way stop sign until it is fixed.

0800 – 10-8, Called in detail. I called back 2 missed calls and left messages for them. There were no voicemails or texts. I began patrolling the isles and checking for construction parking issues. I also dealt with the light on SE 7th Street and Fed again.
0900 – Began vacation checks. I moved two packages to the rear.
0915 – Audible alarm. The homeowner had just gone out on a walk and left her interior garage door left slightly open and that accidentally set it off. 10-98-3.
0920 – One way traffic enforcement on SE 11th Ct and 9 Ave.
1030 – Vacation checks appear 10-4. Some residents had gotten home already this morning.
1045 – Home is doing some construction today. I met with the contractor after a few people had issues getting to appointments. I explained how they need to park and to avoid completely blocking driveways or the roadway.
1110 - One way traffic enforcement on SE 11th Ct and 9 Ave.
1605 Monitoring one way. 1 citation issued
1755 Saw the infamous rio vista motorcyclist. As I drove up behind him, no less than 3 neighbors frantically pointed at him. As I did not observe any traffic violations, I decided to have a friendly chat with him. He claimed he was unaware that he was more infamous that the infamous el guapo, I suggested maybe he take his rides along the beach as to not aggravate his neighbors.
1850 Flagged down by resident on SE 11 Isle who wanted to complain about….you guessed it… Apparently he was tearing down their street yesterday and then his neighbor found tire tracks in his yard, although no one witnessed the yard damage. I explained that I spoke with him only an hour earlier.
1935 Traffic stop for one way. Subject looking for Tom Jenkins with suspended DL. Citations issued.
2000 Flagged down by resident. Elderly resident claimed her wall lights were vandalized several months ago. She also felt her pool pump was vandalized, but that just looked old and rusted. Report taken.

0645- 10-8, I left a message for Carol, there are no new voicemails or texts. I reviewed the activity log, and began school bus stop patrol.
0730- Began and completed the out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
0800- Observed 2 S-86 types walking east on SE 9St.. They eventually sat on the porch of residence and started to rummage through their belongings. Contact was made with the 2, later to be identified stated she is the grand daughter of the property owner and has permission to be on the property. The property owner was a Rio member many years ago and is currently in a nursing home suffering from the infirmities of old age. After speaking with she stated her Dad is the POA for the estate owned by his mother, and that he is allowing her to be on the property. Contact was made with who stated he is the POA and that his daughter is allowed to be on the property. He is an estate attorney located at. A 29 check on her revealed a history to include drugs, and grand theft. He of has no history.
0920- Responded to a alarm. Accidental by homeowner.

1020- Patrol of Rio mainland and parks.
1650 One way enforcement on SE 9 Ave until 1720. No violators.
1735 Unlicensed, illegally parked fishermen sent on way from SE 10 St with warnings and directions on how to obtain the appropriate fishing license.
1820 One way enforcement on SE 9 Ave, citation issued to violator.

0900 – I checked the isles and started vacation checks.
0920 – I checked vacation home and noticed two Audis in the driveway that were not there before. I called the resident and she stated the neighbors were now using the driveway and she will be back in town as scheduled. All was 10-4.
0930 – Checked N Fed Businesses and Schools.
1000 – One way traffic enforcement.
1030 – Roving patrol and vacation checks.
1130 – One way traffic enforcement.
1205 – Vacation check. I noticed the Jeep was not in the driveway anymore, so I called the homeowner. She advised that a friend has the Jeep and thanked me for calling.
1500 10-8, detail called in to Carole, I was able to reach her on the second dial, phone is acting-up. No messages on detail phone. Call came in on detail phone from non-RVSP member caller advised he had a laborer at the residence that he no longer wanted present. The male, apparently would not leave the area and was across the street at the park. Upon arrival was GOA, I called the reportee back and advised. Subsequently began patrol.

a knock at her door about 9pm. Turns out a neighbor needed help for another neighbor that had fallen

1230- Called detail into Carol. I reviewed the activity log. One new message left on the phone.
1300- I patrolled the isles, bridges and yacht club. A truck was obstructing traffic in the 1600 block of SE 10th Street. I had the driver move his vehicle.
1430- Patrolled the mainland and parks.
1500- Patrolled businesses along S. Federal Hwy.
1530- 10-7.
2130 10-8, detail called in. Checked voicemail, vm received at 1800 about a possible suspicious subject in park. Park checked, no one seen. Card left at callers mailbox with outcome. Contact was also made with resident who was concerned about one-way at SE 11th Ave traffic violations and a s13 taxi at shell station. Taxi was checked, and was having vehicle trouble. Intersection monitored, no violations observed.
2200 Patrolled isles and mainland. Dispatched received call about a male on the side of the road on the 1700 block of SE 12th St. Male was located, and was resident) Resident had fallen off of his bike and struck his head. Fire responded and he refused transport. I followed him to his residence and ensured he got home safely. I attempted to make contact with spouse and daughter, but unsuccessful. Card was left with number to call with any issues.
2330 Patrol of LYC, mainland, no activity.
0015 Complaint received from resident about loud motorcycle , ongoing issue. . No contact could be made with operator and no motorcycle seen. Surveillance was conducted from 0015 to 0115 but no motorcycle observed.

1700 Went to speak with resident about on going loud motorcycle noise. Although three cars in the driveway, there was no answer at the door.
All common areas, parks LYC and Hemmingway checked and secure.
2200 Began patrol the corridors all appeared to be secured.
2210 unauthorized/underage house party. Spoke with son who had some H.S friends over. Approx. 50 kids were advised to go home when remnants of alcohol was noticed. The street illegal parking was also causing a traffic hazard.
2245 Continued patrolling the neighborhood with overhead lights on. Checked on the house party. All subjects were gone
2300 Patrolled of Rio mainland, parks, and business district. All quiet
0000 maintained high visibility along Fed highway. All quiet.

0910 – 10-8, I spoke to Carol and gave her my hours. I also reviewed and updated the logs. I was flagged down by a resident who complimented our one way traffic efforts. While reviewing logs and checking for messages, I began traffic enforcement.
0930 – Traffic stop for one way violation. Warning given. The rain has begun.
1000 – Roving patrols in the rain.
1020 – Parking issue on SE 11th Court with contractors blocking the roadway. I had them move their vehicles without incident.
1030 – Roving patrols. On/off rain showers.
1130 – Mainland vacation checks completed. All 10-4.
1200 – Isles Vacation Checks completed. All 10-4.
1300 – Final Rounds. 10-7

few homes listed on Vacation checks. After patrolling the neighborhood, I checked

Requested one of the two cement trucks on SE 10TH Street to move as I drove down the roadway and observed them causing an issue for passing vehicles.
1042 Joivana present at Rogers residence, 614 SE 11TH Ave
1600- 10-8, I called the detail into Carol. I reviewed the activity log. One new text message left on the phone. The address was added to the vacation log. There were two new voicemails.
1630- I met with resident who advised she found a lot of her neighbor’s business documents in her garbage. She also believed her neighbor had recently been arrested for fraud. Upon further investigation, it was determined that BSO currently has a fraud case against her neighbor. I collected the documents and put them into evidence pending further investigation.
1830- Patrolled mainland and isles.
1900- 10-7
2045 10-8, called in detail. Reviewed logs, traffic stop conducted @ 12th and fed for red light violation. Lost tourist, warning given.
2100 Contact made with resident in ref to ongoing motorcycle issue. Met with renter. He was advised of the ongoing issue, and reminded to obey all traffic laws. He stated that he “cruises” the neighborhood sometimes. He was asked on the interest of curbing the complaints to avoid doing so during the night hours if possible and he agreed to do so elsewhere.

1115 Received a call who advised that the infamous motorcyclist was out and about. I made contact with the motorcyclist on 9 Ave and N Rio. I did not observe him speeding or ignoring stop signs however I had a chat with him. I told him about the multiple calls we have been receiving and just advised him to keep his speed down and watch for kids. He was very respectful and stated that he would comply.
