1615 Checked the business along US 1 and the entrances to Rio Vista.
1630 I was flagged down in reference to a very large black Rotweiler running loose. It was reported the dog was threatening persons by its aggressive actions (growling and chasing people). Upon arrival the dog also charged at me and this was truly not appreciated from my perspective. While quickly taking inventory of my digits and limbs, I retreated faster that a Wildebeest pursued by a pride of hungry lions; all the while controlling an overwhelming urge to soil myself.
This rather unpleasant fellow weighed in at about 125 pounds and had the enraged disposition of a sleep deprived Grizzly Bear. I noted what surely must have been about 3000 gleaming sharp teeth inside of his salivating jowls as he appeared to be sizing up the bite width required to remove my thigh. Clearly, he was not pleased with my presence.
Now that we had established a mutual not-so-admiration society between us, I was quite pleased with myself when I successfully duped the bad mannered buffoon into a entering a fenced yard. I allowed him to believe I could be his next tasty mid-day snack should he enter the gate and commence to devour me.
He charged towards me once again as if I was wearing a necklace draped with fresh pork chops but he soon came to the sad realization that I could jump safely to the opposing side of the fence thusly thwarting his attempt to render me forever mutilated. I must claim an entirely new appreciation for chain link fencing on this day.
Finding it impossible to hide my outward laughter while closing the gate securely behind him; I taunted “Cujo” (from a safe distance, of course) on his basic lack of intelligence. Grinning from ear to ear animal control was summonsed to come take possession this beast and I rejoiced openly in my victory in this battle of wits with man’s best friend.
Unfortunately, my self-achieved elation was very short lived as our beloved local animal control agency advised me it was a legal holiday and they do not respond to any such foolishness on holidays. Awesome!! Thank-you so much for the warm inner feelings I now achieved knowing why I pay my property taxes each and every fall and spring!!
Nearly out of options, I left my new found friend drooling and captive inside his temporary quarters. I drove through the neighborhood fervently asking all persons who were found if anyone may know who in the world may possess such a hostile creature.
I was eventually directed to a possible owner. Contact was made with a pleasant chap who, acknowledged the dog was his after checking his back yard and finding his dog was auspiciously missing.
He immediately came to the address and retrieved his possessed possession without further incident.
An animal complaint case report was filed #14-005734

1620 I received a call on the detail phone in reference to a W/F subject passed out on the sidewalk in front of the market at SE 7 Street and Federal Hwy. Upon arrival I located the damsel in distress apparently over come by the evil forces of gravity and lying near the front door of the grocery sprawled out in a small puddle of foamy saliva.
Initially, I foolishly believed this maiden to be a tad intoxicated, however; she quickly corrected my errant interpretation of the observed data. She inferred she was only cleverly disguising herself to be an incoherent, slobbering muddle of horizontally entrapped humanity who was enjoying the view of this vast world from the perspective of a common insect.
Had I not observed the half-dozen empty beer cans contained in her purse and was nearly assassinated by the inordinate distilled toxic odors spewing from her oral cavity; I may have totally bought into her account of this circumstance. Questioning if I may have been a bit hasty in my assessment of the situation I elected to err on the side of prudence as I summonsed an ambulance to possibly render her aid.
After close examination of my prone princess, FLFD/EMS surmised her to be uninjured but unfortunately seriously snookered. Dazed and confused, I was shaking my head in disbelief as I drove away from this uncommon encounter; it appeared my brothers in public service had also never seen a professional entomologist at work!!

an illegal golf cart that had just passed being operated by a 12 year old girl. He intends
to call us when he sees an unlawfully operated cart in the future as he thinks things
have gotten out of hand. A reminder in the civic association newsletter about the
lawful operation of the carts might remedy the situation.
1900 Updated a number of the RVSP signs, but stopped on account of heavy rains. We are
out of the circular RVSP sign, (I did not locate any in the trunk) I had to replace some of
