1000 – 10 8, called in. One voice message was in reference to a parking complaint at 1306 hours on 7-21-13.
1005 – HOA vehicle is making a really bad sound, took to the garage and checked out the loaner. Please make sure to return the key to FLEET not the key fob machine thingy. No computer either.
1130- Got the loaner and will begin house checks. I will write down the houses that need to be checked. Hopefully the car will be ready later. All homes on the mainland were found secure. Detective Hancock will check the homes on the isles this afternoon.
1545 Began patrols and completion of remaining vacation checks
1700 All vacation checks on the isles checked secure.
1805 Patrolled the parks, isles and Yacht Club.
1845 Responded to a complaint in reference to the homeowner leaving trash cans at curbside for excessive periods of time. Upon speaking to the homeowner I was advised he is a new resident and the property came with 8 trash containers when he took possession. The homeowner stated he did not need nearly that many cans so the City advised him to leave what he didn’t need by the street and they would recover them. The unwanted cans were removed earlier today creating a happy ending to this otherwise tragic series of events.
1930 Checked tented property on SE 11 Street.
2045 Continued high visibility patrols near neighborhood entrances
2130 Responded to a residential alarm. Upon arrival all was found secure. A callout arrived and the property was checked inside and also found to be secure. It was cleared as an apparent malfunction.

1615 Checked residence regarding email received concerning alarm going off on Mercedes in garage. Home appeared all secure. I emailed them back with the outcome.

2050 Responded to animal complaint of barking dog. Nothing heard. MI completed.
2130 Checked Yacht club areas
2315 Traffic stop on juvenile driving non-street legal golf cart with no lights at 9 Ave/5 Ct After his last final warning a couple of weeks ago, he was cited, towed golf cart, and Dad came to pick him up. A report was taken.

1010 Retrieved the car key and called in. No messages. Beginning vacation checks
1220 Suspicious W/M reported on Cordova south of Rio Vista anonymous reporter stated he was walking and talking on the phone.(no crime but I went to look anyway). The W/M was walking southbound and continued towards the beach. Nothing was suspicious.
1320 Completed mainland checks
1330 Checked LYC
1545 Began the balance of unchecked today’s vacation homes
1645 All vacation homes on the Isles checked secure.
1825 Removed an intoxicated W/F from Stranahan Landings Park without incident.
1950 I removed two juvenile skateboarders from a construction site on SE 12 Terrace. It did not appear they were damaging anything but easily could have been hurt jumping over the boards and ramps they had constructed.
2015 Patrolled the Yacht Club and the Isles.
2115 Final patrols of the area.

2000 I stopped a suspicious vehicle in front of a house. It turned out to be delivery guy looking for a way into gated home with no door bell. All was Ok

0800 Began and completed out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
0940 Patrolled Isles and LYC. No unusual activity to report.
1000 Traffic enforcement 9 Ave/11 Ct. (1) verbal warning provided to Rio member reference to one way violation.
1020 Patrolled businesses along Federal highway. No unusual activity to report.
1030 Patrol Rio mainland.
1730 A drive by check of all vacation homes found them to be secure.
1800 Patrolled the Yacht Club and the Isles
1820 An electrical storm with much lightening is passing through the area.
1935 Still raining…..
2005 I removed fallen a large tree branch which had fell during storm in the 1100 block of Ponce. The tree branch will be disposed of later by a City crew as the roadway was cleared without a call out assistance.
2100 Final patrol of the area…….all quiet, still raining.

1400 One message on detail phone from homeowner. She appreciates our checking her house while she was away and specifically commented that when she found the UPS package we brought around to the covered back patio, she realized how me we care about what we do.
1526 Out of town checks completed and apparently secure
1700 Corridors, parks and neighborhood secure. Rain kept things quiet. 10-7.

0045- Routine patrol of neighborhood, very quiet.
0120- Patrolled Isles and US1 businesses with no issues.

2100 – 10-7. Very quiet day and Q35 vehicle was parked as expected with no trouble finding it.

0915 Began and completed out of town checks, all appear to be secure.
1030 Restaged car to 9 Ave/11 Ct. (thanks for the walk Mel).
1120 Patrolled businesses along Federal Hwy.
1200 Patrolled Isles and LYC.
1218 Responded in reference to residential alarm. A property check was conducted, all appeared to be secure. I closed it out as S-68. Message left for resident.
1245 Final patrols all areas.
1550 Began patrols and re-checks of vacation homes
1625 Vacation homes on the mainland checked secure on re-checks
1915 All vacation homes on the isles checked secure on re-check.
1940 I checked two groups of families fishing at the end of SE 10 Street. No problems noticed and apparently the crabs were biting as their baskets were full.
2015 Checked the businesses along US1.

2115 Observed two elderly folks attempting to load a bicycle into their car at 600 SE 6 St. Turned out elderly brother-in-law fell of his bike. Contacted EMS who transported him to the hospital.
2140 Flagged down by resident reference tire theft. I advised on past activity of the group and that I would add overnight hours if it appears to be an ongoing occurrence. He advised that he was pressuring his neighbors for more contributions for 24 hour coverage.

2340 Stopped juvenile riding a dirt bike with no tag and no lights at 40mph at N. Rio / SE 7 St. Advised on the dangers of such an activity and had him push the bike home.

1500- 10-8, left message for Mr. Hudson, no new messages. Reviewed activity log.
1520- Began and completed out of town house checks. All appear to be secure.
1630- Patrolled Isles and LYC. No unusual activity to report.
1700- 19 fuel, wash, vacuum.
1720- Return to Rio, Patrolled mainland and parks.
1750- Traffic enforcement 9ave/11ct. Verbal provided to Rio resident and member reference to one way violation.
1800- Removed large palm frond from roadway 1305 N Rio. (all by myself, just like Mel above, but I am younger).
1815- Patrolled businesses along Federal.
1840- Final patrol all areas.
0910- Began and completed out of town checks. All appear to be secure.
1020- Patrolled Isles and LYC.
1045- Patrolled alley way south of 11ct. No unusual activity to report.
1100- Traffic enforcement 9ave/11ct.
1- Traffic stop conducted reference to one way violation.
2- Traffic stop conducted reference to one way violation, elderly man from Las Vegas was lost and looking for Davie pier ( ? ).
1130ish- Assisted patrol units with a 21vehicle just occurred 1499 se 17th st. suspect fled westbound possibly onto Cordova. Suspect located at Walgreens Davie/fed A show up was conducted with positive results. Suspect charged accordingly.
1700 Patrolling
1830 Call from resident regarding youths riding dirt bike in dirt lot at end of SE 7 St. Stopped the now familiar juvenile and advised him that he needed owners permission to ride the dirt bike on the lot.

1820 Flagged down by resident advising that he is having a party for his wife tonight and wanted us to be aware for parking issues. I advised we would check by.
2130 Checked suspicious ford van parked in ponce cul-de-sac with single b/m occupant. He was waiting for his uncle who was fishing. All 10-4.
