0850- Began out of town house checks, all secure.
0915- Received several calls in reference to a vagrant walking east on SE 6th st.
Contact was made with subject, who stated he was heading towards Pompano.
I escorted the B/M back to Federal Hwy area and advised him to take the next bus. I returned all incoming calls to the reportees.
1010- Patrolled behind business along Federal Hwy., nothing unusual to report.
1030- Patrolled Rio Vista Mainland, Located a lost chuiaha, checked nearby homes contact was made with the owner, pet/owner reunited.
1125- Return to Rio Vista. Spent the rest of the afternoon checking with moving/cargo trucks, to verify their presence. All were 10-4, to many to list.
1215- Final patrol of Rio Vista Mainland, Isles, and LYC, nothing unusual to report.
1745 10-8, Message left from resident (unknown name) at 3:15pm regarding homeless male digging through trash in the 1100 blk of Cordova. Caller advised they would contact the PD to have a unit respond.
1900 Circulated around the isles and Cordova to make sure the above listed individual was still not in the area. No one found
2000 Patrolled the parks, SE 9 Ave, Federal and Ponce areas.
2100 Patrolled Cordova and Federal access roads. Extra watch on numerous cars parked around the church.

0615 Began patrols and checks of vacation homes in Rio Vista
0730 Saturation patrol in the area of Bethany School in reference to morning arrivals/traffic
0825 Dispatched to in reference a complaint on a landlord by the tenant. Upon my arrival resident stated that her landlord is refusing to come meet her to take possession of the apartment and the key. She also stated the landlord is refusing to return her $130.00 damage deposit. I directed the renter to civil court for a small claims action. MI Card #11-021283
0845 Resumed patrols and vacation home checks
1040 A traffic stop was made on a H/M driver who was operating a white colored Chevy Suburban with loud music playing in the 1100 block of SE 9 Street. The subject was a local contractor’s employee and was returning to his job site. A warning was issued.

2115 Traffic stop made on a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro in the 800 block of SE 11 Ct. The car had an excessively loud exhaust system. He was warned to get it fixed, he stated he was going to correct the problem.
2150 Checked a small group of youths gathering in front of a residence in the 1000 block of SE 11 Ct., they dispersed when I arrived some on motorcycles. I believe it was a residence youth who had been entertaining visitors.
2240 Check of the Yacht Club, Cordova Road and all isles.

1100 Vacation checks complete. Patrols of all areas. Very quite/low activity today.
1230 Resident approached me and stated she and her husband, who is disabled, have had three suspicious occurrences in the last month at their home. Each involved 3 different males knocking on their door at odd times, including one at 4 a.m. in the morning. Another involved a w/m on a cell phone who knocked and tried the door knob. He was addressed by the resident and stated he was sorry as he was at the wrong house. She stated she recently reported this to patrol and that they are moving within 2 months, but she wanted us to be aware of the instances.

1805 Traffic stop made at 9 Ave/Ponce De Leon, one way street violation, citation issued
1830 Traffic stop made at 9 Ave/9Street one way street violation, citation issued
1845 Traffic stop at made 9 Ave/rio Vista Blvd., on a one way street violation. I noticed a strong odor of burn marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and the driver had obviously been consuming alcoholic beverages. A search of the vehicle revealed some marijuana and drug paraphernalia under the front seat. Cynthia Lynn Faradella, W/F was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and disregarding a traffic control device. (11-022862)

1415 Contact was made with two fisherman Se 9th St./ Cordova, check revealed they are residents of area, NFA.
1445 Contact was made with resident, who stated she believes S-86 type individuals may be sleeping at the new under construction home, which does not have doors yet, just west of her residence and requests patrol during the evening shift.

0645 I completed vacation checks and updated the log.
0715 I checked by all of the parks, gazebo, and LYC. There are a few people out running, but no unusual activity.
2025 Received call regarding a suspicious vehicle in which a woman exited and was knocking on doors. In the area within 60 seconds. Vehicle, a sporty dark colored vehicle was GOA. Circulated the area.
2040 Responded to call of a h/m carrying a small baby on a bicycle near Davie/ Federal. Caller thought this looked unsafe. Circulated the area, nothing found. MI completed.
2130 Large RV pulling trailer turned down SE 9 isle and got stuck. Assisted older couple from Tennessee who were following their GPS to an alleged campground location. Helped them unhook trailer and turn it around.

0955 Traffic stop was made SE 6 Ave/5 Ct, a warning was given to driver for disobedience of a traffic control device.
1025 Directions were given to a truck driver looking to make a delivery on SE 12 Street near the Yacht Club.
1100 Received a complaint from a resident of speeding vehicles in the evening hours on SE 9 Street between Rio Vista Blvd. and Cordova Road. The information relayed to me was that cars are often traveling at speeds over 40-45 MPH as they crest Ponce De Leon headed to Cordova Road and the complainant believes this is a dangerous situation and requested extra patrols of this area between 1600-1800 hrs M-F.
1130 Final checks of the area, Cordova Road, Yacht Club and the Isles.
1500 – Patrol Rio, Ponce, and area parks. Traffic enforcement on SE 9th Ave from 12th street to N. Rio Vista due to member complaints of speed and stop signs. No violations observed.
1630 – Patrol Isles, Cordova, and LYC. Special (radar) attention to SE 9th Street from Cordova to Ponce due to recent member complaints of high speed vehicles. NO speed violations observed. 1 stop for obstructed view, citations issued for the violation and DWLS.
1730 – Resume mainland patrols.
1830 – Return detail phone and keys to station. 10-7.
1900 10-8 Called in left a message for Mr. Weber/No calls or messages on detail phone
1910 Dispatched to a domestic dispute between a mother and her 14 yrs old son. Upon arrival I was able to determine that the 14 yrs old boy was not taking his mental heath medication recently and had become increasingly violent towards his mother. Tonight a physical fight took place at the residence and the mother called the police to assist. The boy was taken to Ft. Lauderdale Hospital on a Baker Act admission. Report taken #11-024515.
2030 Returned from Ft. Lauderdale Hospital reference Baker Act, resumed patrols
2055 I made a traffic stop at SE 6 Ct. and Federal Hwy in reference to a failure to stop at a red signal. The driver, was found to have two active felony warrants out of Nevada on larceny and narcotics charges however a lengthy delay Nevada sated they would not agree to extradite from Florida. A traffic citation was issued to “the luckiest man in the world” and he drove away, hopefully to Nevada.
2135 Checked three W/M fishermen at the end of SE 10 Street. Nothing was noted as being in violation and no complaints had been forwarded, they were advised to make sure to clean up the area before they left.
2205 A recheck of all vacation homes found them to be secure
2230 I located an open door and a dome light burning on a 2011 Mercedes. I made contact with the resident who came outside and took care of the situation, no foul play was suspected it was apparently accidentally left on when the last person exited the car.

1200 Vacation checks complete, patrols of Rio/Ponce areas.
1240 Call on detail phone regarding suspicious Latin male walking westbound on SE 7 St. isle, wearing jeans, dark t-shirt. Circulated that and all isles, unable to locate. Resumed patrols of all areas.
1910 Investigated 5 suspicious youths who were sitting partially concealed near the 11 st bridge. Claimed to be waiting on a ride. One of the youths lived on 9 st and stated they were sent out of the house.
2020 Stopped vehicle for violating one way on SE 9 Ave. Valid license, warning given.
